November 2008 Our expedition to The North Pole At the beginning of the month Ear to the Ground approached us to provide them with some staging equipment for a temporary ‘pop up’ winter bar on Manchester City Centre. ‘The North Pole’ will be open for business for 8 weeks in the run up to Christmas. ‘The North Pole’ is located next to the Urbis, Manchester and surrounded by 50 giant Christmas trees. The bar will be serving a festive menu along with winter cocktails and drinks. October 2008 The launch of the new mixed use development in Clarence Dock was a huge success. Again Ear to the Ground asked us to be a part of this memorable event. We supplied them with the floating catwalk and Saddlespan marquee structure that was use to create an impressive image for the event and set the benchmark for the aura that the regeneration wants to create for the city. The inspiring waterfront can boast top fashion retailers such as G-Star, All Saints and Diesel as well as classy restaurants and a casino. September 2008 We Build ‘BBC Proms in the Park’ To view a time lapse video of the build of the stage click here Event Staging and Structures Ltd were proud to be a part of the 2008 BBC Proms in Salford. Here we provided our client, Salford Council with a 15m Orbit Roof for them to host yet other successful Proms. The event was attended by 8,000 people who turned out to see Russell Watson perform, backed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. August 2008 Field Day Festival Showcases New Talent The Field Day music festival in East London was yet another successful event that we were proud to be a part of. Here we provided our client Ear to the Ground with an 18m orbit and crowd barrier for the event. Audiences were treated to traditional village fete entertainment such as sack racing and heard music from the likes of Foals and Simian Mobile Disco. Underage Festival is a Success Yet another Ear to the Ground event that proved to be a huge success was the Underage Festival in London’s Victoria Park. Here we provides an 18m Orbit Roof and stage for the event for performances from acts such as Gallows, Foals, Dizzee Rascal and Glasvegas.
